We moved to Kingsacre House in Braunton from Bristol in October 2009.  Having visited the North Devon coast for holidays and surfing trips for some years we felt that Braunton would be a great place to run a B&B.  With 2 grown up children, Will a Snowboard Instructor and Surfer and Alisha at Oxford Brooks studying Politics, Braunton offered the sort of lifestyle we wanted away from the city.

Once we moved into Kingsacre we undertook a program of refurbishment and upgrading.  All guest bedrooms have been redecorated with a beachy ‘New England’ feel to reflect the area we live in, with Farrow & Ball colours, Laura Ashley and Cath Kidston bedding and crockery, shaker style beds with fluffy pillows and cosy throws.  We have built a double garage in the garden for guest use as a storage area and a large decked area for relaxing or maintenance of equipment.  In April 2010 we had the conservatory added to make the most of the view at the front of the house.

During our spare time we enjoy walking the dog, Sunny, on the beach or across Braunton Burrows.  Nigel and Will are keen surfers and enjoy the wide choice of local breaks depending on conditions!!  We also enjoy walking or cycling on the Tarka trail.   If we have a Sunday evening available we can often be found at ‘Open Mic Night’ at The White Lion where talented local artist Amy Newton organises an excellent evening of local talent.

Winter 10/11 will see complete refurbishment of the en suite bathroom in Dune room with oversized, walk in shower.  The front garden is having an overhaul with the addition of  ‘seaside’ plants, pebbles, rocks and grasses.  We are also hoping to complete an outside ‘BBQ’ covered area where guests can relax in the back garden.
